Interactive Wildlife Displays

A memorable connection created between visitors and the wilderness beyond the summit. Rather than simply admiring mountain scenery from observation decks, guests begin understanding that the forests, valleys, cliffs, and alpine meadows surrounding Banff are part of a living ecosystem filled with animals constantly moving through the landscape, each playing an important role in maintaining the natural balance of this extraordinary mountain environment.

Interactive Wildlife Displays

The Interactive Wildlife Displays inside the interpretive centre at the Banff Gondola give visitors an engaging opportunity to discover the incredible diversity of animals that call the Canadian Rockies home. Designed to be hands-on and immersive, these exhibits transform wildlife education into an interactive experience where guests can explore how animals survive, adapt, and thrive within one of North America's most remarkable mountain ecosystems.

Throughout the displays, visitors can learn about many of the iconic species found throughout the region, including grizzly bears, black bears, elk, wolves, cougars, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, deer, and a variety of smaller alpine mammals and birds. Interactive features often allow guests to compare animal tracks, identify habitat zones, examine feeding behaviors, and better understand how each species fits into the delicate balance of the mountain environment.

The exhibits also help explain the unique challenges wildlife face while living in the rugged landscapes surrounding Sulphur Mountain. Seasonal migration, harsh winters, food availability, predator relationships, hibernation patterns, breeding cycles, and adaptation to changing weather conditions all become part of the learning experience.
